Chitrax is built around local browser processing. Your images and PDFs stay on your device while you use the tools.

Files & Processing

Chitrax does not upload, store, or inspect your files. Image resizing, compression, format conversion, PDF generation, and PDF merging run inside your browser using local memory, canvas, WebAssembly, and Web Workers where available.

AI Background Removal

The background remover may download model and WebAssembly assets from IMG.LY on first use, then cache them in your browser. Your selected image is processed locally and is not sent to Chitrax servers.

Analytics

Chitrax may use privacy-focused analytics to understand aggregate product usage, such as page visits and tool interactions. File names, file contents, and document contents are not collected.

Local Session Data

Preview URLs, generated files, and working state exist in the current browser session. Closing or refreshing the tab clears that in-memory state.
